CR batteries
Made of manganese dioxide, these batteries are known for their high current pulse discharge capability, and are often used in cost-sensitive devices. CR batteries have a tapered discharge profile and perform well in large current applications. They have a slightly higher voltage than BR batteries when discharging, but their voltage drops over time. CR batteries are less robust than BR batteries in high temperatures, and can experience a rapid increase in self-discharge at the higher end of their temperature rating.
In most cases, BR and CR batteries can be used interchangeably.
For example, a BR2032 can be used in place of a CR2032 without damaging equipment. However, the circuit that the battery is designed for may differ, and the BR2032 may work better in environments that generate a lot of heat.
